A Happy Accident
Last week in the studio, I had created a background for a piece of work. Needless to say it didn’t all turn out as I had hoped. So I started adding layers of tissue paper and gesso to the ground fabric of felt and painted bondaweb, then things went even more pear-shaped and in my frustration I covered the whole lot with silicon paper and took a hot iron to it.
Who-hoo - I loved the texture that I got, trouble is, I cannot remember exactly how I got it, and even if I could, I don’t expect I could replicate such a “Happy Accident”
So after a few hours hand stitching this is the result.
Although I am now posting on this blog, I am still in the process of updating my links etc - so please bare with me on this.

Hi
It is much better to see the page filling my screen. most are a strip down the centre.
I have made many an accident piece and if I really like it am furious I didn’t take note.
Really like this texture. Was it difficult to stitch with so much overlaying the surface?
Are you changing your header for each post? It was elephants yesterday!!! Wasn’t it?
Ah-Ha -is it on a rolling image?
It’s dolphins now . Love it. How clever.
keep them coming
Cheers

Shirley Anne sherris’s last blog post..A long lapse
I hate it when you can’t replicate a “result”, whether it be a formula on a spreadsheet or something a little more artistic. I love the colours and textures non this piece. Soothing.
Shirley Anne Sherris -
Its a rotating header, its a bit random so some times you see a different image, glad you like it.

Lovely colour palette on your happy accident. I hope you are happy and prosper in your new blog home-I’ll update my link.
I’m glad I am not the only one who likes to read Karen’s blogs on a full screen and not a strip down the middle. Thanks Shirely Anne. There has been some debate in deepest darkest Wales on this subject lately!
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment which led me to your blog and your beautiful work! I will be back.

hi karen, love the colours in the accidental piece- very sea washed and quiet
Hi Linda, - I think you may have given me an idea for the title describing it as sea washed, it does have that feel to it, glad you like the colours.
